Asbury Park is continually be reinvented with new condo's and town homes being built in prime locations through out the city. Featuring a bustling Downtown and Boardwalk with lots of community events. You will also find a movie theater, many wonderful restaurants and shops! Asbury Park is a diverse community and some of the Bars and Clubs cater specifically to the gay and lesbian community such as Cameo, Georgie's and Paradise with it's classic 1970's t-dance.
Other popular venues include Baca, Johnny Mac's, Porta and Watermark.
Asbury Park will see it's first Saint Patrick's Day Parade, Sunday March 9th, 2014. The parade route begins at the Asbury Park Boardwalk on Ocean Ave at 4th Ave and continues southwest towards our downtown. The reviewing stand / VIP area will be located in the heart of downtown at Press Plaza (Cookman/Emory Ave). The parade ends on Main St in Municipal Plaza. Another event not to miss is Asbury Parks Zombie Walk- in October 10,000 un dead and their spectators take over the boardwalk and downtown Asbury Park. In September, the Oysterfest brings in 1000's of people and features live music and great food.
Two other events worth mentioning are Sandblast a gay and Lesbian dance on the beach and venues through out town, July 18th to 24th, 2014 and the other is Jersey Pride New Jersey's official gay pride celebration held the first Sunday in June.
